Sir Elton John
(born Reginald Kenneth Dwight on
25 March 1947) is an English singer-songwriter, composer, pianist, record
producer, and occasional actor. He became the most successful pop artist of the
1970s, and he has survived many different pop fads including punk, the New
Romantics and Britpop to remain one of Britain's most internationally acclaimed
musicians. Unlike many pop stars, John was able to sustain his popularity,
charting a Top 40 single every single year from 1970 to 1996. Elton has sold
more than 250 million albums plus over one hundred million singles, making him
one of the most successful artists of all time. He has more than 50 Top 40 hits
including seven consecutive no. 1 U.S. albums, 59 Top 40 singles, 16 Top 10, 4
no. 2 hits, and nine no. 1 hits. His success has had a profound impact on
popular music and has contributed to the continued popularity of the piano in
rock and roll. Stay with the Chords for Beginners blog! Also see: Easy guitar chords: Tenacious D.

you lived your life

Goodbye Norma Jean, though I never knew you at all
You had the grace to hold yourself while those around you

Goodbye Norma Jean, from a young man in the twenty second

Who sees you as something more than sexual, more than just
our Marilyn Monroe
A A7 D G...
