Chris Rea is a British singer and guitar player. He enjoyed a run of popularity cross Europe during the late '80s and early '90s after almost a decade of previous recordings. He was born as Christopher Anton Rea on the 4th of March 1951. Plays guitar, piano, keyboards, accordion, harmonica and mandolin. Rea started out performing with a local group called Magdalene. The band won a national talent contest in 1975 as the Beautiful Losers, kicking off a fairly high-profile U.K. career. Rea went solo, signing to Magnet Records where Gus Dudgeon produced his first album. With a title referring to a suggested stage-name for Rea, it included the impassioned Fool, which reached the Top 20 in the US and was later covered successfully in the UK. Rea had sold more than 30 million albums worldwide. Check this out: Chords for Beginners: Eric Clapton.
